We are all hard working, dedicated and passionate about what we do and are looking for a new team member that can mirror the qualities outlined below.  In return, we offer a really fabulous working package with the flexibility to work remotely or from home at agreed hours to suit yourself.

We know that you are dedicated, but sometimes you need to put life first - whether it’s family or lifestyle - so we are flexible.

We also believe that diverse teams really are the best teams. We don’t want you to be put off applying for this job because you can’t tick every box. If you are excited about our company, the role and working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl, you’ve nothing to lose?

The Project/Programme:

We manage our company using the principle of workstreams.  This hybrid role is for a Scrum Master & Requirements Analyst to work within the Customer Experience workstream.  The focus of this team is to create an amazing experience for our customers by delivering technology, UX and processes split across multiple delivery project/scrum teams.

This is an opportunity to expand your horizons as the solutions being developed as part of this workstream are not limited to just software development.  The solution combines engineering, software, hardware, cloud computing, AI, robotics. This is a chance for you to bring your knowledge and experiences of an agile SDLC to a different domain.

The role:

The Scrum Master, as a member of the agile team and very good communicator, is responsible for organising and conducting all the agile ceremonies for all of the scrums within the customer experience workstream i.e. scrum master for multiple scrum teams, facilitating creativity and empowerment, encouraging improvement of team’s development practices, and removing all impediments keeping the team from completing their work.  The Scrum Master will also participate in the Scrum of Scrums stand ups, ensuring that progress and blockers from their individual scrum teams is communicated upwards.

Typically, the Requirements Analyst will elicit and document requirements, highlight key challenges, look to validate business and industry requirements and effectively translate these requirements into system and non-functional requirements. The individual will facilitate review sessions with SME’s Customers and internal Product Owners, developing new business processes as needed in addition to using traditional requirement elicitation methods to identify to-be statuses for the technical solutions being developed.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint demos and retrospective ceremonies

  • Scrum of Scrum participation

  • Collaborating with other Team Leads, Scrum Masters and Product Owners in the organisation to remove any impediment that could delay the agreed deliverables

  • Coach the team to be self-organised to fill the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum framework

  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving

  • Promoting and assuring use of the agreed agile methodologies and tools

  • Requirements elicitation and validation using proven analysis methods,

  • Process Design

  • Backlog creation and grooming

  • Investigating, understanding and documenting the specific agricultural environment in which our solution will be used and relaying this information back to the engineers

  • Extracting, analysing and documenting the knowledge from our friendly agronomist with regards to understand the decision making process that they follow to detect plant health issues and pest presence and densities

Key Skills:

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these fabulous things…

  • Want to enjoy your job not just turn up to do the minimum to get by

  • Understand that common sense, logic and reason are far more important than any documented process.  You must know when to apply process and when to do something a little bit different.

  • Have an inquisitive nature and be a person that takes pride in their work with a strong attention to detail

  • Have a good work ethic and the discipline to work both remotely and as part of a close-knit team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Have a logical mind and be an expert multi-tasker that can prioritise requests

  • Have demonstrable ability to deal with multiple projects and tasks whilst maintaining unflappable organisation and effective levels of productivity as our company evolves at a remarkable pace

  • Have the ability to simply ‘get stuff done’ and take ownership of tasks with no project too big or small

  • Have provable ability of Scrum Master capability, be that certification or experience

  • Have provable ability of requirement elicitation, be that certification or experience

  • Have provable ability of process design and re-design, be that certification or experience

  • Have provable ability of supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques in the Scrum approach (example: Kanban, SAFE, Burndown technologies, various retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various well-documented tools and approaches that a Business Analyst would use (example: CBAP tools and techniques, elements of the BABOK, AS-IS TO-BE Analysis, BCS BA Diploma tools and techniques)

  • As we are a start-up and everyone mucks in, you will also have to take on a few tasks outside of the traditional embedded role to support our growing company, you must possess a willingness to do this

  • In order to excel in this role, you will have excellent project planning ability, and be able to interpret requirements into technical tasks

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

The other bits & pieces:

  • People with current UK and EU work visas only, please.  (This isn’t hidden discrimination, if you are not a UK or EU citizen by birth, but do have a valid visa to work in the UK or EU we would really love it if you applied)

  • Ideally, we are looking for somebody full time, but if you would prefer to work part time hours or you are a Scrum Master but know of an awesome analyst that you want to job share with then don’t be put off from applying – even better apply together and tell us how you see it working.  We are looking for the right person/people combination who will get the job done well and that is more important to us than sticking to an old-fashioned rigid work pattern. While we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.

Please send us your CV and a couple of paragraphs outlining your best moments from your career so far.

(Due to the volume of applications, we may only be able to respond to successful applicants.)
